Kitsap
Habitat welcomes volunteers who are required by a court to do
community service. While all of our volunteer opportunities
are open to such volunteers, the timeframe required for the hours’
completion typically means that an individual will volunteer
either in construction or at our Builders Bargains store.
To be eligible to use Habitat for Humanity of Kitsap County as
a source for completing community service, your sentence must involve:
| 1. |
No second offense
convictions of a violent nature |
| 2. |
No convictions
of an offense of a sexual nature |
| 3. |
No convictions
of theft or burglary |
| 4. |
Written confirmation
of the number of community services hours to be completed. |
| Additionally,
you must: |
| 5. |
Receive a New
Volunteer Orientation,
sign a Volunteer Waiver prior to beginning community service,
and sign our Community
Service Acknowledgement (pdf). Turn these
forms in your first day on the job. |
| 6. |
Schedule yourself
for desired hours in VolunteerUp, through the Volunteer Coordinator,
or the Builders Bargains store. |
| 7. |
Sign in upon arrival
at the work location (construction site, store, or donation
station). |
| 8. |
Sign out when
you leave the work site and locate a Site Supervisor to sign/initial
the Community Service form, verifying your attendance and
hours. |
| 9. |
Once your hours are complete,
bring your form to the Habitat main office for a final signature
and so we can make a copy for our records. |
Please note: Habitat for Humanity of
Kitsap County reserves the right to terminate this agreement for
community service if the participant is in any way unproductive,
disruptive, or in any other way negatively impacts the accomplishment
of the daily goals.)
